You should know that this is the kind of recipe that you can use for a quick meal on the weekend or on a busy evening. This is THE BOMB! I've made it a million different ways. This is the only recipe you should make if you love peanut butter. You don't need an oven, any special tools, or any special ingredients. All you need is some time to wait while it sets in the fridge. This recipe doesn't contain any gluten, so it can be used as an alternative sweet treat for people with allergies.

What is a mousse?

Mousse is a cold treat that is usually made with something to keep it stable, like egg or whipped cream. The steps will be different depending on the recipe. But every mousse recipe will tell you to put it in the fridge for a while before you serve it. It's light, airy, and very tasty if you do it right.

What makes a mousse a mousse?

Something that makes something a mousse is that it is light, airy, and creamy. It's not usually served sweet, but you can make it spicy too. Some sauce or whipped cream could be put on top of it.

What is a single serve recipe?

Recipes that only make one serving are called "single serve." Most of the time, one dish is actually two plates, because why not? Because they only need a few items and don't take long to mix and make, they are easier to find and make.

What ingredients do you need to make this peanut butter mousse?

We need cream of wheat and peanut butter. I used my favorite peanut butter, which I made myself, LOL! You can pick any you like. In order for the peanut butter to become runny, it needs to be warmed up in the microwave if it is too thick to spread. To make this vegan, you should use a thick cream made from plants, probably soya so that it doesn't change the taste of the peanut butter.

What do you need to make this mousse with peanut butter?

Either a whisk or an electric hand beater will work to beat the cream. A stand mixer can be used if you want to make more than this amount. I like to use a whisk. I used a small plate to set the mousse, but this mousse stays nice in the fridge in a glass or bowl.

What else can you put in this peanut butter mousse recipe?

For extra crunch, I like to sprinkle crushed salted toasted peanuts on top. You could also put more wet peanut butter on top. Adding a little grated dark chocolate to the mousse makes it taste like Snickers. You can also use fresh strawberries, which will make it taste like peanut butter and jelly mousse. Putting sliced fresh bananas on top is my favorite choice because I love peanut butter and bananas together. You can always add maple syrup or honey to make the mousse sweeter if your peanut butter isn't sweet enough. This is what I made with brown su.

How to make this peanut butter mousse recipe?

First, we check to see if the peanut butter is runny. If it's not, we heat it in the microwave for 15 seconds to make it runny. Fill a bowl with heavy cream. Use a whisk to beat the cream until it gets thick and doubles in size. We want stiff peaks because the peanut butter will make them less stiff. Add the peanut butter to the whipped cream and gently fold them together. Be careful not to mix them too much. When everything is mixed together, put it on a plate and smooth the top. Put it in the fridge for at least 25 minutes after adding more peanut butter.

How should I serve this peanut butter mousse?

Put a little sea salt on top of this mousse and serve it cold. I think there are no wrong ways to serve this mousse.

How long does mousse last in the fridge?

You can keep this recipe in the fridge for two days. So that the edges don't dry out, I would put cling wrap or a lid over the top. I kept this in the fridge for up to a week, but because it's so light, fluffy, and airy, I wouldn't recommend keeping it for more than two days.

How do you fix the most common mistakes people make when they make mousse?

  • Over-whipping—If you whip your cream too much, it will become grainy and pour out of the bowl.
  • Ingredients are not at the right temperature – If the peanut butter is already runny, you can skip this step. Once the peanut butter is warm, let it cool down a bit before adding the cream.
  • The cream wasn't whipped enough. If you don't whip the cream to stiff peaks, the mousse won't set.
  • When you don't chill the mousse, you should put it in the fridge for at least 25 minutes before serving.
